KATHMANDU, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- Another batch of Chinese relief supplies and experts arrived in Kathmandu, Nepal, by air on Tuesday, as part of Chinese aid efforts following the deadly mudslide on Wednesday.

Tailored to Nepal's on-the-ground needs, the aid package includes urgently required items such as drones, DNA testing devices and reagents, water-purification equipment, and lighting gear.

The aid came after China sent its first batch of relief supplies to Nepal on Sunday.

Five DNA identification specialists, forming the third team of Chinese aid experts for Nepal, were on the same flight. Upon their arrival, the Chinese DNA identification experts headed straight to the disaster-hit areas to assist Nepalese authorities with relief operations.

Nepalese authorities said Tuesday that the death toll from the massive mudslide had risen to 1,068, with 4,606 people still missing.
