China responds to reports of a Chinese national missing in Pakistan avalanche

BEIJING, July 31 (Xinhua) -- China is acting swiftly to verify the relevant information regarding recent reports that several mountain climbers, including a Chinese national, went missing in an avalanche in Pakistan, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said here on Friday.
Spokesperson Mao Ning made the remarks at a daily press briefing, adding China stands ready to assist its nationals if needed, and would like to provide assistance in accordance with Pakistan's needs.
