People's Daily Online launches AI digital employee
People's Daily Online officially launched its No. 001 AI digital employee on July 29, marking the expansion of its AI applications into integrated office scenarios and a shift from simply having AI technology to using AI to create value.
Unlike traditional AI tools that provide support for specific tasks, the No. 001 AI digital employee serves as an office digital collaboration specialist. It is a versatile digital employee that can be managed, collaborate with others, be evaluated, and have its operations traced.
The AI digital employee is closely aligned with organizational workflows and can connect with mainstream office platforms such as OA systems, WeCom, Tencent's enterprise communication platform, and email.

Employees do not need specialized skills to use it; they can assign tasks directly through various channels. It can independently complete tasks, including document polishing, formatting, and workflow processing. It can not only draft official documents, but also assist with document handling, meeting organization, analysis and decision-making, task supervision, and collaboration.
The AI digital employee operates on trusted local nodes. It enables local data processing, tiered permission management, and full-process operation tracking, ensuring enterprise data security and compliant operations from the ground up.
A person in charge said that starting with the launch of the No. 001 AI digital employee, People's Daily Online will continue to strengthen R&D efforts, accelerate the upgrading and iteration of intelligent digital employees, and gradually roll out a broader range of digital employees with higher levels of intelligence and professional capabilities. The company will expand their application in office scenarios and explore how AI can transform work methods and organizational structures, driving systemic transformation in mainstream media.
