China opposes attacks on Saudi civilian facilities: FM spokesperson

BEIJING, July 20 (Xinhua) -- China opposes attacks on civilian facilities, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said on Monday in response to recent missile and drone attacks on Saudi Arabia's Abha International Airport.

The sovereignty and security of Saudi Arabia and other countries should be respected, Lin added at a regular media briefing.

China advocates resolving disputes through political and diplomatic means to create conditions for an early resumption of peace and tranquility in the region, he said.
