Studying Xi Jinping thought key to understanding contemporary China, senior official says

BEIJING, July 10 (Xinhua) -- Li Shulei, a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC), said on Friday that a thorough study of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era is key to understanding contemporary China.
Li, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks when meeting in Beijing with foreign representatives attending an international symposium on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
Since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012, the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core has led China to achieve historic accomplishments, Li said, adding that the CPC is willing to enhance exchanges and mutual learning with political parties around the world on state governance.
The foreign participants noted that this visit has enabled them to witness China's progress in many areas, expressing their willingness to learn more about the thought and draw on wisdom and strength to boost national development.
