Huangyuan leather embroidery, also known as Danga'er leather embroidery, is a distinctive traditional folk craft from Huangyuan county in Northwest China's Qinghai Province. With a history spanning more than 3,000 years, this ancient art form transforms specially prepared animal hides, typically cow or sheep leather, into striking embroidered works. Instead of silk or fabric, artisans use leather as their canvas, applying a variety of threads and specialized techniques to create intricate patterns depicting landscapes, flowers, birds, animals, figures and scenes from life on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
