Barcelona photo exhibition connects public with China through culture, daily life
BARCELONA, Spain, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- A photography exhibition titled China in Focus has opened in Barcelona, offering local audiences a visual journey into contemporary China through images of landscapes, cultural diversity and everyday life, the co-director of the Confucius Institute Foundation of Barcelona said.
"The exhibition is a way of introducing the public to Chinese culture, geography, landscapes and customs through images that portray sometimes unexpected regions such as Inner Mongolia or Yunnan," said Gaelle Patin, co-director of the institute, in an interview with Xinhua on Monday.
The exhibition, which opened on Dec. 10, features 20 photographs by artists from diverse backgrounds and regions. It will remain on display until Feb. 28, 2026, with admission.
Organizers said the images reflect both natural and urban environments in China, along with the vitality of its people and cultural traditions.
They also noted that recent visa exemption policies between Spain and China have made travel easier, supporting cultural exchanges and facilitating firsthand experiences that are reflected in the photographs.
"The photographs sparked my desire to travel to China and experience it firsthand," said Olga Garcia Anton, one of the visitors. "Seeing China through different visual perspectives made it feel closer and more accessible."
