Chinese Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao meets with Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury

Chinese Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao on Tuesday met with Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury, and the two exchanged views on Airbus' cooperation with China, according to the official website of Ministry of Commerce.

Wang said that in recent years, China's market scale has been steadily expanding, and it has become the world's second largest consumer market and second largest market for imports. China will continue to advance the modernization drive through a Chinese path, develop new quality productive forces, which will provide broad development space for foreign-funded enterprises, including Airbus, said the minister.

Wang expressed the hope that Airbus, taking the opportunity of the operation of the second A320 final assembly line in Tianjin, would continue to strengthen cooperation with China and provide more high-quality aviation products and services for China and the world.

Wang said that, currently, the fragmentation of the world economy is intensifying, and unilateralism and protectionism are impacting the international economic and trade order, with instability and uncertainty significantly rising. China will continue to leverage the role of the roundtable meetings for foreign-funded enterprises, actively promote the resolution of issues and concerns encountered by Airbus in its development and operations in China, and jointly maintain the stability of global industrial and supply chains.

Faury said that Airbus is confident in China's economy and the development of its civil aviation industry, and the operation of the second A320 final assembly line in Tianjin provides favorable conditions for Airbus to enhance cooperation with China.

Airbus is willing to continue deepening its roots in the Chinese market, and contribute to promoting economic and trade cooperation between China and France, as well as between China and Europe, Faury said.
