Chinese expert: US tariff policy ineffective

China and the United States held a high-level meeting on economic and trade affairs in Geneva, Switzerland, on May 10 and 11. The two sides have reached a series of major consensuses and have also agreed to establish an economic and trade consultation mechanism. Wei Nanzhi, director and chief research fellow of the Department of American Society and Culture at the Institute of American Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, stated that the US tariff policy is ineffective and that China's policy is very stable. She also emphasized the importance of maintaining the confidence of countries worldwide.
