XI'AN, April 25 (Xinhua) -- Passenger flights were on Tuesday resumed between northwest China's Xi'an and Moscow, the Russian capital, with a ceremony held at Xi'an Xianyang International Airport.

An Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft operated by China Eastern Airlines is scheduled to run round trips three times each week on the route.

Departure flights take off at 1:35 p.m. Beijing time from Xi'an and arrive in Moscow at 5 p.m. local time, and return flights take off at 7:10 p.m. local time from the Russian capital and arrive in Xi'an at 7:25 a.m. Beijing time the next day, according to the airline.

Since the route was launched in 2014, over 1,000 flights have been operated, greatly facilitating communication between the two cities, said Yang Fan, who works at China Eastern Airlines.
