No concern is too small when it comes to people's well-being. Ours is a classic mixed-use community, with shops right under the apartments by the square. It's full of life, but it's noisy, too. One case can mean site visits, meetings, coordination and follow-ups for 10 days to two weeks. I'm barely off one call when another one comes in.

Some needs go unspoken. Imagine an older person standing on a stool on shaky legs to change a light bulb. One fall could have serious consequences. Needs that are hard to report through traditional channels are the ones our community workers must identify and address early.

I kept thinking: We have more than 10,000 residents in our community, but only a few of us to serve them. If only we had some help.

And now, that wish has come true. The public service agent is like an AI assistant just for us community workers. It understands residents' direct requests and uses data to uncover their underlying needs. It helps us see ahead of time which issues to prioritize and which disputes may escalate.

With a smart helper online 24/7, residents' requests are heard and seen sooner, routed faster and answered more accurately. We also have more time to be out among residents, serving them more thoroughly. I'm always there for residents when they need me.

Chongqing is a megacity with a unique mix of sprawling urban areas, vast rural communities, mountainous terrain and reservoir regions. In recent years, the city has been exploring a new path to modern megacity governance. It has systematically advanced the "1361" Digital Chongqing Strategic Plan and accelerated efforts for AI and Digital Chongqing to empower each other.

The public service agent draws on the Mingjing platform's ability to create, train and evolve AI agents. Using the wide range of data gathered by Chongqing's Yukuaiban online government services platform, it builds profiles of public sentiment that reflect residents' needs and even identifies needs shared across whole groups. This enables the government to deliver more precise services and more refined governance.
