China hopes Iran, U.S. will adhere to choice of peace: spokesperson

BEIJING, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- China supports the settlement of disputes through political and diplomatic means and hopes Iran and the United States will adhere to the choice of peace, return to the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, and resume dialogue and negotiations at an early date, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Wednesday.

Guo said that since the outbreak of hostilities, China has been committed to stopping conflict and promoting peace, and stands ready to continue its efforts for the early restoration of peace and tranquility in the Middle East and the Gulf region.
