Senior CPC official meets Vietnam's chief justice

BEIJING, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) -- Chen Wenqing, a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC), met with Nguyen Van Quang, chief justice of Vietnam's Supreme People's Court, in Beijing on Tuesday.

Chen, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the CPC Central Committee, said it is hoped that the two sides will follow the strategic direction set by the top leaders of the two parties and the two countries and strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the judicial field.

Chen called on both sides to improve multi-channel mechanisms for the resolution of cross-border civil and commercial disputes, deepen exchanges and training of rule-of-law talents, and serve the sound development of bilateral trade and economic cooperation with high-level judicial collaboration.

Nguyen Van Quang, also a member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, said Vietnam is willing to enhance exchanges and mutual learning with China in such areas as building a socialist rule-of-law country, and work for more solid and substantive progress in building the Vietnam-China community with a shared future.
