China urges Japan to heed insightful views from ruling, opposition parties to mend ties
BEIJING, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Lin Jian on Friday called on Japanese authorities to listen to insightful views from Japan's ruling and opposition parties to repair bilateral ties.
Lin made the remarks at a regular news briefing when asked to comment on media reports that a cross-party group of Japanese lawmakers will visit China next week in an apparent move to help mend strained bilateral ties.
"We note that some insightful figures from Japan's ruling and opposition parties are deeply concerned about the current state of China-Japan relations and hope to make efforts to put bilateral ties on the right track," Lin said.
Japanese authorities should listen to and take seriously these voices, abide by all the principles set forth in the four political documents between China and Japan, and take concrete actions to create the necessary conditions for normal exchanges between the two countries, he said.
