BEIJING, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- China opposes overstretching the concept of national security to restrict and suppress normal international cooperation on education and research, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said Tuesday.
Lin made the remarks at a regular press briefing when asked to comment on Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong's recent call on the Australian National University and the University of Queensland to terminate their collaboration with China's Shandong University and the Chinese Academy of Sciences respectively.
