Senior CPC official visits prominent experts

BEIDAIHE, Hebei, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- A senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official on Monday paid a visit to prominent experts on summer vacation in Beidaihe, a seaside resort in north China's Hebei Province.

Entrusted by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, Cai Qi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, extended sincere greetings to experts across the country on behalf of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council.

Inviting prominent experts to Beidaihe annually for a summer vacation has been an important institutional arrangement by the Party Central Committee and the State Council. Among those invited this summer are experts on the fronts of basic research, strategic and frontier technology, and core technologies in key fields, as well as philosophical studies and social sciences.

Cai called on the experts to carry forward the spirit of scientists, strive for new achievements in their respective fields, and make greater contributions to securing decisive progress in basically realizing socialist modernization.
