Beijing has four distinct seasons, and honestly, it's a great place to visit in every single one of them. Summer is no exception, but let's be real, it can get pretty toasty out there!

The big-name sites like the Forbidden City, or the Palace Museum and the Great Wall are worth braving the heat for, no question. But when you need a break from the sun, and let's be honest, who doesn't, there are plenty of awesome indoor spots ready to save you with some refreshing air conditioning.

Follow Michael from People's Daily Online as he takes you to three spots that mix history, art, culture and food, all while staying refreshingly cool: a giant movie museum, a laid-back art district, and Beijing's current favorite mall.
