(Xinhua) 14:18, June 27, 2026
BEIJING, June 26 (Xinhua) -- China's top legislature on Friday voted to adopt a revision to the law on certified public accountants, with the revised law highlighting stricter regulation.
The revised law, passed at a session of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People's Congress, the national legislature, will take effect on Jan. 1, 2027.
The revision, which maintains the basic framework and key institutions of the current law, focuses on strengthening Party leadership, improving regulatory measures and increasing accountability.
The revision aims to address prominent issues in the accounting sector, including auditing fraud, while enhancing the sector to better fulfill its role as a "gatekeeper".
