Japanese PM Takaichi pledges to resign if ruling bloc loses majority in upcoming snap election

TOKYO, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi said on Monday she would step down immediately if the ruling bloc fails to secure a majority in the upcoming House of Representatives election.
Takaichi, who also serves as president of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party, made the remarks during a party leaders' debate on Monday.
