PLA conducts long-range live fire drills to south of Taiwan Island

NANJING, Dec. 30 (Xinhua) -- The ground forces of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Eastern Theater Command organized live fire training, while conducting long-range joint strike with units of the Navy, Air Force and Rocket Force in the waters to the south of Taiwan Island at 1 p.m. Tuesday, said a military spokesperson.

Li Xi, spokesperson of the PLA Eastern Theater Command, noted that the drills achieved desired effects.
