China to hold internet civilization conference
BEIJING, June 29 (Xinhua) -- The 2023 China Internet Civilization Conference will be held in the city of Xiamen in east China's Fujian Province from July 18 to 19, its organizers said on Thursday.
The conference will consist of a main forum, a forum on developing integrity in cyberspace, 12 sub-forums, and a series of themed events, said Niu Yibing, deputy chief of the Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission and the Cyberspace Administration of China, at a press conference in Beijing.
The sub-forums will cover topics such as content development, law-based governance in cyberspace, data security, the protection of personal information in cyberspace, and the management of algorithms, international exchanges, digital charity and cultural tourism development.
The two-day event aims to build a platform to present China's ideas for internet civilization, promote experience exchanges and mutual learning, and display related achievements, Niu said.
The conference will be co-hosted by the Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission, the Central Commission for Guiding Cultural and Ethical Progress, the Fujian Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, and the Fujian Provincial People's Government.
