Interview: Polish business leader eyes vast opportunities through China's Hainan expo
WARSAW, April 12 (Xinhua) -- The China International Consumer Products Expo is a platform for Polish companies to explore market opportunities in China and increase export of quality products to the Chinese market, said a Polish business leader.
"Of course, it (the Chinese market) is a huge market. There are many opportunities. But I feel and most of my colleagues feel that we are not using this market properly. We should export to China much, much more, because we have many products in a very good quality," Jacek Boczek, vice president of the Polish Chinese Business Council, told Xinhua in a recent interview.
The third Hainan expo, running from April 10 to April 15 in Haikou, capital of the southern Chinese province of Hainan, is the first of its kind to see the participation of a Polish delegation.
Polish quality products like milk and cosmetics have gained increasing popularity in China over the years, noted Boczek, who has been organizing China visits for Polish entrepreneurs, helping pair up trading partners in the two countries, and providing Polish and Chinese businesses with market information and experience for the past 10 years.
Noting that "more and more Chinese people and Chinese companies have come to Poland to invest and import Polish products" since the optimization of China's COVID response, Boczek said he hopes "this will also help Polish products to be exported to China."
Meanwhile, Boczek said he welcomes more Chinese companies to invest and expand business in Poland. "If someone is looking for a good gate to Europe, I think Poland is absolutely the best."
Besides, Poland and China need to strengthen cooperation, both within and outside the platform of Cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries, Boczek said.
Noting the recent visits of European leaders to China, Boczek said he believes people-to-people exchanges and face-to-face meetings are important, both for national leaders and for ordinary business people.
