The First Changsha Seed Industry Summit and Innovation Achievements Expo was held at the Changsha International Convention and Exhibition Center on September 6. The CPC Hunan Provincial Standing Committee member and the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee secretary Hu Henghua attended and inspected the Expo Hall.

Yuan Longping, the father of hybrid rice in China and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Guan Chunyun, Yin Yulong and Zou Xuexiao, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Jiang Xiexin vice president and secretary general of China Seed Association; Jiang Danping, deputy director of the Ministry of Science and Technology; Xia Jianping, member of the CPC Municipal Standing Committee, and Municipal Committee Secretary-General; and deputy mayor Chen Zhong attended.

The theme of this Summit and Expo is: Seed Industry Innovation; the Intelligent Future of the Seed Industry-Building "the Silicon Valley of China’s Seed Industry ". It aims to promote the development of cutting-edge technology innovation in seed industry, explore new modes of biological breeding, new path of intelligent seed industry, and upgrade the brand effect of “China Seed Silicon Valley”. The "China Seed Industry Silicon Valley (Changsha) Development Plan (2018-2025)" and ten "China Seed Industry Silicon Valley” Construction policies were issued at the summit.

After the opening ceremony, Secretary Hu visited the exhibition hall to learn about rice breeding technology achievements.

A total of 10 projects were signed at the event, with a total investment valued at 2.75 billion CNY. These projects include:

1.There are 6 new key agricultural projects introduced by Longping Hi-Tech Park, covering the research and application of intelligent agriculture remote sensing technology, soil pollution remediation, water-saving and drought-resistant rice research, organic certification platform, agricultural technology incubator platform;

2.There are 4 cooperation projects with enterprises, including cooperative research and development of new rice varieties, cooperative development of new varieties of special red rice, and joint construction of experimental bases.
