Four enterprises in the Changsha Economic and Development Zone, namely Sany Heavy Industry, Zoomlion Heavy Industry, China Railway Construction Heavy Industry (CRCHI), and Sunward Intelligent Equipment, were ranked on the 2018 list of the world's top 50 construction equipment manufacturers recently published in Beijing.
The list was jointly released by the Organizing Committee of T50 Summit World Construction Machinery Industry and the Machine China magazine, under the guidance of the China Construction Machinery Association (CCMA).
Among the 12 Chinese enterprises on the list, the largest number come from the Changsha Economic and Development Zone. Sany heavy Industry and Zoomlion Heavy Industry ranked 8th and 15th, respectively, due to their high sales figures of $5.89 billion and $3.58 billion in 2017. CRCHI ranked 33rd and Sunward Intelligent Equipment ranked 46th.
Qi Jun, president of CCMA, said that these Chinese companies are doing well in terms of sales and revenue growth, which is helpful for global industrial recovery. Of the 12 companies that saw a rise in sales of more than 40 percent, nine were Chinese. The combined sales of the 12 Chinese construction machinery manufacturers on the list reached $24.78 billion.
These remarkable achievements can be attributed to reforms and innovation taking place at intelligent manufacturing enterprises. Sany Heavy Industry launched an intelligent truck on May 18 in an effort to achieve digital and intelligent transformation. Zoomlion Heavy Industry promotes intelligent manufacturing through integrating construction machinery manufacturing with cutting-edge technology such as the internet, cloud computing, big data and internet of things.
Energy-saving excavators developed by Sunward Intelligent Equipment Company and the shield machines developed by CRCHI have also left an impression on the entire industry.
