The 2018 Big Data and Spatial Information Application Expo will be held in Changsha between July 19 and 21. This year the theme is “Spatial Information Application – New Big Data, New Era Development, and New Industry”. More than a hundred national well-known enterprises and higher education colleges and universities will participate to demonstrate their research and application achievements on big data.

Changsha big data industry is mainly concentrated in the fields of people's livelihood, production, and business affairs. It brings together more than 20,000 software and mobile Internet companies, accounting for nearly half of the whole province. In 2017, the operating revenue of the mobile Internet industry accounted for 88% of that of the whole province. In August 2015, Hunan Geomatics Industrial Park was settled in Muyun Economic Development Zone, Tianxin District, Changsha City. Five major platforms have been built then. They are the geospatial big data application center, innovation and entrepreneurship base, ChinaRS (Hunan) Sci-Tech Park, Hunan Geo-Town, and Geomatics Industrial Park Incubation Center.

Presently, by taking the advantage of talents and technologies from the “Double First-Class” universities such as the National University of Defense Technology, Central South University, and Hunan University, Changsha has initially formed a development momentum with the characteristics of strong policy support, competitive enterprises, outstanding independent innovation, and distinctive application.
