After declaration, initiatial recommendation, peer review, Xiangyang city finally received permission from the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Public Security, and the Ministry of Commerce, and was successfully elected a demonstration city of green freight.

A total of 22 cities were selected in this list. Besides Xiangyang City, Shiyan was another city in Hubei province that won the qualification.
