

On the evening of April 18, 2018, Hunan Vice Governor He Baoxiang met in Changsha with Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Autonomous Republic of Karakalpakstan of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
He said, “Hunan and Karakalpakstan have strong complementary industrial structure and huge cooperation potential. The Hunan-Europe Express opened in 2014 has enhanced connection between both sides. In 2017, the import and export volume between Hunan and Uzbekistan increased by 30% to 27.06 million USD. These all indicate promising development.” He noted that Hunan was willing to support and encourage powerful Hunan enterprises to seek business opportunities. We also welcome more Karakalpakstan investors and products to enter Hunan, he added.
Karakalpakstan Deputy Chairman introduced that their country is an autonomous republic of Uzbekistan and attaches great importance to friendly relations with China and Hunan. He expected to have a closer cooperation between the two sides in such aspects as agricultural products, textiles, and traditional Chinese herbal medicine materials.
Both sides then signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation to strengthen mutually-beneficial cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, science and education, tourism, and culture.
