The ceremony of "Looking for the Most Beautiful" was held in Changsha and 10 women were awarded the title of "the Most Beautiful Women in Hunan 2017". The activity, themed "Fanghua Xiaoxiang" and sponsored by Hunan Provincial Women's Federation, was held to honor the International Women's Day on March 8 and launch a new-round search for the most beautiful women in 2018. Among the 10 most beautiful women, Huang Jian, Zhou Jihong and Zhao Xiaoyan are from Changsha.

Sculptor Huang Jian grew up in Changsha’s Yuelu District. In the past four decades, she has held more than 70 art shows around the world and won over 40 international and domestic awards. She is the most awarded Chinese artist in environmental art design.

Zhou Jihong, coach of China’s national women's weightlifting team, cultivated Hunan’s dream team in weightlifting. She has cultivated many outstanding wight lifers like Wang Mingjuan, Xiang Yanmei, Hou Zhihui, Li Ping and Liao Qiuyun. Led by Zhou Jihong, Hou Zhihui, Liao Qiuyun and Xiang Yanmei won the golden medals in the women's 48kg, 53kg and 69kg weightlifting respectively at the 2017 Tianjin National Games. Zhao Xiaoyan, a welder from Truking Technology, has always remained true to her original aspiration and explored new ground in advancing welding technology, setting a good example in pushing for the spirit of craftsmenship. She has become a welding master in China, not common to see for a female welder.
