

The past 2017 saw Changsha’s industry growing steadily. Statistics from Changsha Municipal Bureau of Statistics showed Changsha’s industry added value increased 8.5 percent to reach 353.32 billion yuan, 1.9 percentage points higher than the national level and 1.2 percentage points higher than the provincial level.
The added value of Changsha’s industry above the designated size growed 8.5 percent, a high level with eight consecutive months above 8 percent.
The market needs for industrial products increased with ex-factory prices for industrial products up 5.7 percent year-on-year, reversing the five-year downward trend since 2012.
Changsha’s industrial restructuring was continuously improved with emerging industry developing fast. Electronic information equipment manufacturing, automaking, and electric mechanical engineering and equipment manufacturing were among the top ten industry sectors with the largest industrial added value, increasing by 23.9 percent, 26.5 percent and 19.3 percent respectively.
Stimulated by the high-tech development, such as the electronic information, biological medicine, intelligent manufacturing and new materials, high-tech products become Changsha’s new growth engine.
In 2017, the output of new energy automobile increased 24 percent.
