The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China (MIIT) released a second list of green manufacturing system pilot parks and a number of industrial parks and enterprises in Changsha were on the list, including Ningxiang Economic & Technological Development Zone (NEDZ), Wasion Group, Kaitian Environmental Group, Brunp Recycling and XFTEA Group.

MIIT released its first list of green manufacturing system pilot parks in August 2017. Liuyang High-tech Industrial Development Zone was approved as the first national green industrial park in Hunan and Fazeer, Truking and Sanyauto were approved as the national green factories.

Now Changsha boasted seven national green factories after the inclusion of Wasion Group, Kaitian Environmental Group, Brunp Recycling and XFTEA Group.

Green industrial park refers to an industrial agglomeration area characterized by enterprises’ green manufacturing, industrial parks’ intelligent management, and favourable working and living environment. It directly manifests the philosophy of green industrial development.

The newly-released list included 22 national green industrial parks. NEDZ is the second green industrial park approved in Hunan.

NEDZ is home to a number of green enterprises and the output value of its green manufacturing industry reaches 30 billion yuan.

The environment of the zone improves a lot in recent years. 93.53 percent of days in a year had good air quality. Good days are those on which the AQI is lower than 100. The water qualified rate is up to 100 percent. The green coverage rate reaches 31.14 percent. The concentrated processing rate of urban sewage reaches 100 percent.
