The staff was releasing salamander fries into the torrent upper reaches of the Hanjiang River on January 16.

Fisheries Bureau of Xiangyang City held an activity on the same day to release fish into the Xiangcheng section of the Hanjiang River for promoting their reproduction. Into the Hanjiang River about 5 million fries, including white amur breams, silver carps and bighead carps, were released through siphons, in addition to 1,000 salamander fries into some rapids along the river tributaries. The purpose of this act was to help restore the ecological environment in the tributaries of the Hanjiang River.
