The Chinese Embassy in Laos has held a reception here dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) of China.
Chinese military attache to Laos, Senior Colonel Chen Yongjing introduced the history of PLA and its recent development when addressing the reception on Wednesday evening.
Chen said Chinese armed forces stick to the military strategy of active defense, and adhere to the principle featuring defensive operations, self-defense, and gaining advantage by striking only after the enemy has struck.
"Meanwhile, we know that China's security and development is closely linked with the peace and prosperity of the world. The Chinese armed forces are a strong pillar supporting regional security and stability, an important driving force for world peace and development," said the Chinese military officer.
According to Chen, the cooperation in constructing the Integrated Outpatient Building of 103 Hospital and the ASEAN Light Weapons Shooting Range is progressing smoothly, contributing to the friendly cooperation between the two militaries.
The reception was attended by more than 300 guests, representatives of Lao party, government and army, military attaches from foreign embassies in Laos and overseas Chinese.
