On Nov. 17, an elderly man and his daughter walked slowly down Liangming Road in Hefei. They were Lu Zaifa, 83, and his daughter, Lu Qinxia, 43.
Lu Qinxia wrapped her arms around her father from behind, and the old man's feet rested on her own. The two moved slowly forward. It took them more than an hour to walk down a 300-meter road. Every day, Lu helps her father to walk the route three times.
Lu Zaifa became paralyzed in April due to an acute cerebral infarction. Unwilling to just lie in bed, he often asks to go for walks outside. However, too weak to walk on his own, he relies on his daughter.
Lu Qinxia quit her job to take care of her father. In addition to bringing him for walks, she feeds him, gives him massages and changes his diapers. All these tasks leave her with barely enough time to care for her two children.
"I just do what a daughter should do," she insisted.
