A distinct new bridge is nearly completion in Zhengzhou, central China’s Henan province. The bridge attracted attention online for its unique “wine cup” shape.
From a distance, the main tower of the bridge has a similar style to a wine vessel that dates back to as early as Shang Dynasty around 1500 BC. Chinese webusers are thus referring to it as the “wine cup” bridge. Some have said the bridge suits Zhengzhou, illustrating the city’s extensive cultural heritage.
According to reports, the “wine cup” bridge is 210 meters long, and its main tower 104 meters high. Over 100 million yuan (around 14.8 million USD) was invested into the new and elegant bridge.
