After six years of preparation, The Biography of Cat Demon directed by Chen Kaige started up at Xiangyang Tang Movie & Television Base on August 5.

Adapted from the Japanese magic fiction-Master Konghai, The Biography of Cat Demon tells a story about the invasion of Cat Demon into the Chang'an city in the late Tang Dynasty.

To showcase the landscape of the Tang Dynasty, Chen Kaige mobilized people to build a Tang city in six years. With an investment of over two billion yuan and an area of more than 1,600 mu, the Tang city is a magnificent palace complex with the characteristics of the Tang Dynasty. It is claimed that at least eight celebrated Chinese and Japanese actors and actresses will participate in the film.
