Contortion performers in training

It is said that one minute on stage takes ten year's training. For the girls who learn contortion at Yunnan Vocational College of Culture and Art, a successful performance takes hard training day after day. After five years of study and training, they have grown to be qualified contortionist and are ready to meet the audience.

Contortion is a performance art in which performers showcase their skills of extreme physical flexibility. Contortion acts are often associated with acrobatics, circus acts, street performers and other live performing arts. An act will showcase one or more artists performing a choreographed set of moves or poses which require extreme flexibility. It is the dramatic feats of seemingly inhuman flexibility that captivate audiences.
