Guo Luping, 40, is a member of China's 21st medical team assisting Tunisia in healthcare.
Guo and 11 other Chinese doctors traveled to Tunisia in November 2014. During her 14-month stay in Tunisia, Guo completed 496 operations. Her expertise was extremely valuable in Tunisia, where there is an overall lack of doctors, and particularly obstetricians.
Due to her rich clinical experience and the obvious care she has for her patients, Guo soon won the trust of the local people. Unfortunately, Guo was diagnosed with breast cancer during her home leave in January 2016.
Guo started her career as a maternity doctor and pediatrician in 1997. Over the course of her career, she has performed more than 7,000 operations.
