The Beijing Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau has intercepted ten live poison dart frogs in an overseas parcel on April 15, 2016. The frogs were found inside of package mailed from Poland and on which was claimed as containing clothing and gifts.

The frogs were sent to Chinese Academy of Sciences for further authentication and have been identified as the world's most venomous species--poison dart frog, said Zhang Jijun, director of the parcel section of Beijing Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau,

The poison dart frogs, also known as poison arrow frogs, are native to tropical Central and South America. They often have brightly colored bodies, which indicates their high toxicity. Experts said that one gram of the golden poison frog’s venom could kill 15,000 people.
