A 54-meter-long, 19-meter-tall steel slide opens in a shopping mall in Shanghai on April 18, 2016, providing an alternative for customers to descending from fifth floor to the ground.

Customers were required to wrap themselves in cotton bags to avoid injury from the abrasion. They were also asked to cross their arms in front of their chest before staff helped them slide down. It took 16 seconds to complete the 5-meter-long journey. The slide is in trial for VIP customers of the shopping center but will open to public with all free of charge soon.

The idea of building a slide comes from the 12.9 meter tall slide in Singapore's Changi Airport, and it is believed to be the first of its kind ever built in China.
