

Rocks may be common enough, but on a microscopic scale, they become a wonder of colors. Professor Bernardo Cesare from University of Padua in Italy cut rocks into thin slices, placed them under microscope, and captured some very interesting photos.

While they may seem like color stripes from abstract paintings at the museums, the photos indeed are how rocks look like after zooming in.
