After iced malatang went viral online and was popularized by students at Southwest University of Political Science and Law in southwest China's Chongqing city in September 2015, another 'darkness food' that was created in the kitchen of the same university is making waves among netizens.

The new 'darkness food' is cooked with pieces of apples and sliced chicken. "Dear aunt, I want a dish of it," expressed many students who lined up to taste this amazing dish. In only half an hour, it was sold out.

"Local students like to eat spicy food. As a student who comes from elsewhere, this light cuisine is compatible with my tastes," said Chen Hu, a freshman majoring in international law.

"Cooked apples with chicken is the cuisine of northern China. We made it in our kitchen to neutralize the greasiness that students feel after eating too much meat and fish during Spring Festival," said Peng Zhongfu, the 62-year-old chef at the university.

"Some fruits can be cooked as recipe components. Cooked apples with chicken may seem like a 'darkness food,'but in reality it's highly nutritious. The rich vitamins and other elements in apples can be easily absorbed by human bodies," said Liu Li, a dietitian at the Third Hospital of Chongqing city.
