Photographer Fredrik Schenholm captured these stunning shots of skier Oscar Hubinette dashing down a mountain on the island of Senja in northern Norway.
“The challenge is to be at the right place at the right time,” said the photographer.

"If I let too much light into the camera before the skier makes the turn, he will look like a ghost," Schenholm said. "After numerous attempts I realized that I needed Oscar to be captured in front of a dark background to prevent the ghosting effect. It was a difficult shoot but we both are very pleased with it, so no complaints!"

Skiing at night is something most daredeveils wouldn’t even consider, but both Schenholm and Hubinette deemed it worthwhile. When you see the northern lights illuminate the snowy mountains in the pictures, you know they are right about it.
