Top 16 'tuhaos' in Chinese history
Liu Jin (1452 –1510) was the richest eunuch in the Ming Dynasty. When he was executed, his possessions included 12 million ounces of gold dollars and 259 million ounces of silver dollars. As a comparison, when the Ming Dynasty came to its end, there were only 30 to 70 million ounces of silver dollars in the National Treasury.

Tuhao, translating roughly to "uncouth nouveau riche," has been a popular word in China in 2015. Although tuhao is a relatively new word, it is not a new phenomenon.
