Tonight, the International Space Station will also pass over the UK, and may look to some, like Santa's sled racing across the sky.

It will be visible over the UK from around 5.20pm GMT and with the weather expected to be clear, there's a good chance of seeing it.

There are a number of ISS tracker apps to help parents find what will look like a streak of light in the sky.

'The orbiting research centre will pass over Spain on the 24th so observers in England should see it low in the sky looking to the South West,' according to Tim Peake's blog. 

'The Space Station looks like a very bright star or aircraft gliding through the sky,' he writes.
