An elderly couple was forced out of their house at late night, followed by the house being demolished by local real estate developer in Pingyi County, east China’s Shandong province on November 19, 2015. Six suspects have been arrested the following day, Pingyi police announced on December 7, 2015.
An onsite video captured the late night scenario. The old couple, one 80 and another 82, was seen carried out from their house by seven men at 1:48 am in the video. They were forced into a car and taken away from the place. Four minutes later, an excavator showed up and pulled down the houses. In ten minutes, both their two houses were demolished.
The couple was dropped off at a shopping mall 8 kilometers from their house in the wintry night. One of them was hurt by the intruders’ knife. So far, the couple is still in hospital.
According to the police, Shandong Tiantai Real Co. LTD should be responsible for the incident. The company has been trying to remove 40 households from the local community since 2007. After the negotiation with the old couple failed, the person in charge of the company named Sun Lingwei organized a team to conduct the illegal removal. Sun has now been arrested as the main suspect.
