Recently, the official Weibo of "Beijing Past" posted the photos shot by a netizen of a mum breastfeeding her baby in the Beijing metro and criticized her for "exposing her sex organ" in public. The Weibo has provoked netizens' anger on China's social media. Under pressure, "Beijing Past" made an apology and suspended the account for introspection.

"The Beijing Past" posted the breastfeeding photos without obfuscation and said:" Take care of your behavior in public. Don't expose your sex organ. Are you really okay to behave like this? It's in the metro of Beijing, not the bus in your village!"

Seeing the Weibo, most of the netizens felt angry and showed support to the mom who breastfeed her baby on the metro. Netizen Ouqian said: "The breast is the child's granary, not a sex organ! Infants need to be fed on demand. Bravo for this mum! Why can't we breastfeed our baby in the Beijing metro, while a foreigner can do so in the parliament?" A lot of voices also questioned violating her privacy by photographing mum's breastfeeding and posting it on the internet. Some suggested to set up a specific area in the metro for mums in need. Only a few netizens considered that breastfeeding in metro is offensive.

Beijing Past deleted the relevant photos and said they have no objection or exclusion of breastfeeding. On the contrary, they do support and respect it. What they wanted is bring a debate on the argument - is it acceptable to breastfeed the baby in public without a covering?

Beijing subway said it won't bother breast-feeding women in the metro. UNICEF said through its official Weibo: "Breastfeeding is the right of every mother and baby, even in public places."

On its website, Beijing Past claims to be a public organization. It has organized volunteers to clean up small ads and flyers in the metro since 2013.
