Singer Mao Ning was arrested in Beijing this morning, accused of using illegal substances, according to Beijing News.
Mao admitted he has taken methamphetamine, and his urine samples tested positive for the substance.
The police arrived at the scene following tips from a local resident.
The 47-year-old Mao, born in Shenyang, North China's Liaoning province, began his singing career in 1992. He is best known for his pop numbers The Waves Remain and The Blue Night and Blue Dream.
