A new regulation from Jilin Jianzhu University that prohibits couples feeding each other at school cafeteria has become a controversial topic and roused a lot discussions online. What do you think? Pro or con?

A netizen posted a snapshot of Jilin Jianzhu University’s new students’ handbook on Nov. 4, 2015. One of the regulations has triggered heated discussion online. It states that at the school’s cafeteria, it is forbidden for boyfriends and girlfriends to feed each other. Some people argue this regulation is unnecessary, and some think this is a very cool rule.

For the people who think the new regulation unnecessary, they consider that most of the college students are adults and have the self-consciousness to behave themselves in public places. In addition, some comment that they have never seen couples feeding each other in the school cafeteria, and even if they do so, it does not hurt anyone.

While those approve of this regulation deem it to be very much acceptable. Not only because it is an original rule, but also some of the displays of affection in public places need to be regulated. Some even joked that this regulation is a kind of welfare for single people seeing as Nov. 11 Single’s Day is just around the corner.

A teacher at Jilin Jianzhu University says the regulation is a notice to remind college students to behave in public places. It is not a hard-and-fast rule, but a reminder for the students.
