At the age of 9, he had a car accident and lost one of his legs. 17 years ago, he came to Xiamen, working as a mobile phone repairer. Now he is the boss of two large mobile phone stores. In April, he started to apply to be a volunteer traffic policeman, and although he was turned down several times, he finally became a traffic police officer as he wished to remind people to abide by traffic laws and dive safely.
When he was 9 and passing by a market, Xie Qiming got pushed under a truck by the chaotic crowd and had to have one of his legs amputated. Suffering from unimaginable pain both physically and mentally, Xie always has kept a strong will to live a better life. Beginning as a mobile phone maintainer, Xie worked very hard in Xiamen. Now he not only has his own shops selling mobile phones, but has also started his own family. In his spare time, he does a great deal of volunteer work for disabled people.
In April, he applied to be a volunteer officer in the traffic police. Considering his special condition, the police department rejected him. Xie Qiming kept on applying. He said that as a victim of a traffic accident himself, his experience could better remind people to abide by traffic laws and drive safely. The traffic police department eventually approved Xie’s application. Later a video clip of Xie on duty was uploaded online, and millions of netizens “liked” the video and respected Xie for doing a good deed.
