Shenzhen Customs recently cracked five smuggling rings with 32 persons, and the money involved in the case amounted to 360 million yuan. In this July, Shenzhen Customs seized two smugglers who took luxury handbags across the border from Hong Kong.

In the investigation, Shenzhen Customs learnt that the handbags would be sold in a store in Futian district in Shenzhen. Shenzhen Customs found that a gang bought luxury goods overseas and then had the goods shipped to Hong Kong. The goods, finally smuggled to big cities on the mainland, would be sold in stores and online stores.

Shenzhen Customs, working with the customs in Dalian, Shanghai, Beijing, launched a search for the smugglers. On Oct. 16, law enforcement officers stormed four stores in Shenzhen, Wuhan and Tianjin and seized the suspects.

Five smuggling rings were broken and 32 suspects were finally seized and the smuggled bags and clothes were also captured. The items smuggled which are mainly from Hong Kong are worth 360 million yuan.
